9 am Cross Country Race at Valdez Glacier Lake. Requires helmet. $20 This race is an 11-15 miles loop (with possibly an additional pro loop) through stunning beauty. Race starts at 9 from Valdez Glacier Lake parking area at the end of Airport Road. Racers please plan to arrive by 8:30 to allow time for checkin and route instructions. If conditions require use of an alternate race site, you will be notified on the website, facebook, by email, and by text and someone will be at the glacier for anyone who did not get the messages. 9:00 am Thompson Pass Extreme Downhill Race $75 for extremely experienced riders only. Requires helmet. Mother Nature determines the course, but last year’s course @ Loveland on Thompson Pass was 1.75 miles, 2500 feet vertical descent and winning time was under 4 minutes. Racers please plan to arrive by 8:00 to allow time for checkin and shuttle up the mountain. When you check in Friday (or Saturday) you will be given a map showing where to meet for this race. If conditions later require us to change the race site, you will be notified on the website, facebook, by email, and by text and someone will be at the glacier for anyone who did not get the messages.
