This trail runs from the parking area located at the end of West Egan Drive to Gold Beach.
The first 2,000 feet from the trailhead to the new bridge have been rebuilt and resurfaced and are well maintained, making an easy hike.
The next half-mile can be muddy, but is worth it for the view of the meadow (about eight tenths of a mile from the trailhead) when it is in bloom in early August. From there the trail turns right across a footbridge and segmented boardwalk.
Around 1.1 miles from the trailhead, continue via a short side trail to the left that leads down to the Gold Beach.
There are excellent views of the Alyeska Pipeline Terminal and Port of Valdez.
