WORTHINGTON GLACIER STATE RECREATION SITE

Visitor Center and Gift Shop Opens Once Accessible

Mile post 29, Richardson Hwy

$5 day use/parking fee.

An easy turn off the Richardson Highway at mile post 29 provides excellent views of the Worthington Glacier, which melts and flows into the Tsaina River.

The recreation site provides vault toilets, trash cans, a covered pavilion with benches, interpretive panels, and a model of the glacier. Visitor Center and gift shop is open when volunteers are available. Lookout Trail is a 0.3 mile loop paved wheelchair-accessible trail leads from the parking lot to a viewing platform and down to the glacier water, with interpretive panels and benches along the way. This site is open for the summer months.
No funding nor maintenance from the state is provided for these facilities. Please help us continue to keep these open for use by paying $5 day use fee. Costs for toilet paper, trash service, and toilet pump outs far exceed the fees collected.

NOTE: Worthington Glacier Ridge Trail and Worthington Loop Trail are social trails (not officially permitted nor maintained) that have been closed by the state due to very hazardous conditions including rock slides.
